Hey love bugs,
Jesus be originality! If you are a true SheNista, then you know I am an avid thrifter and I have been for many many years. Being a thrifter doesn't mean that I don't shop at regular retail because I do, but I try to avoid overdone trends and items that every blogger across the blogasphere will have. No tea no shade.....Yesterday the Phillip Lim collection launched at Target and I swear my entire Instagram time line was filled with bloogers showing their recently scored items. Some of them even stood in line waiting on the store to open in hopes to get an item just so they could say they had something from the collection. The real gag is half of them probably didn't even know who the freak Phillip Lim was before this collection hit Target. **side eye** (Yep she said it) Were there some cute pieces... YES! Were there items, I would love to add to my collection..... YES! Would I (if I wasn't on bed rest) get up to go purchase them....NO!!! Hunni if it is one thing I despise it's looking like everyone else. There are only so many ways you can style things to make them look original. Now if I happen to find that BOOM sweater on super clearance, I will get it because that was my favorite item in the collection. Otherwise I have no plans on making a special trip to Target for it or paying 30 dollars for it. So instead I will admire from afar and continue to shop my original pieces from various thrift stores without the worry of showing up somewhere looking like everyone else. Catch those teas. LOL What are your thoughts on shopping? Do you prefer to shop retail or thrift? Do you care about looking like everyone else as long as you have what you want or would you rather be original?
