Over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending the 6th Annual Charity for the Sole Little Black Dress event for 40 Girls and Some Shoes. Not only did I attend the event, I was asked to hit the catwalk. I'm no model but the founder of the non-profit is a good friend and I couldn't possibly tell her no. This is my third year attending the event and every year I enjoy myself.
I found my LBD (little black dress) months ago and I have been waiting to wear this beauty and thought this event would be the perfect time to buss it wide open. (sorry felt a little ratch in my spirit this morning) I found this life changing vintage Jones New York number while thrifting in Memphis and although their prices are significantly higher than those here in Atlanta, I couldn't leave this one on the rack. I am so glad I didn't because after I slayed the runway, I turned around and served in this dress. I also wore my houndstooth Betsey Johnson pumps for the first time and my feet are still cursing me out for it. They may have been cute, but if I hadn't brought a second pair of shoes, I was one prance away from being barefoot and ratchet. Sigh.... the things I do for fashion. Check out pics below:
